Rayagada: In a ghastly incident, a girl from Bissamkatak in Odisha’s Rayagada district was killed for rejecting the proposal of a youth from the area on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Nitu Nauri, a resident of Block Colony under Bissamkatak police limits.
The matter came to light after the accused youth himself surrendered before Gunpur police in Rayagada and confessed the crime.
According to reports, after the girl spurned his proposal, the youth called her to a jungle near Kiribiri Chhak under the Bissamkatak police limits and reportedly killed her. The accused dumped the girl’s body.
Later, the youth surrendered at the Gunpur police station and confessed that he killed Nitu as she had rejected his proposal.
Gunpur police have recovered the body and sent it for postmortem.
