Bhubaneswar: Rainfall activity is likely to increase in Odisha from June 26, according to the India Meteorological Department.
The regional weather office has predicted the formation of a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal on June 26. Under its impact, several districts in the state will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall from June 26 to June 28.
Going by IMD’s latest reports, Odisha districts will experience rainfall activities for the next five days.
Besides, light to moderate rain/thundershowers is very likely to occur in a few places over the districts of Odisha. The IMD has warned of thunderstorms with lightning accompanied with gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph likely to occur.
The regional weather department has issued a yellow warning for rainfall for nine districts which include Khordha, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Rayagada, Jharsuguda, and Sundergarh.
Meanwhile, the Odisha government has put all district collectors on alert in view of the IMD prediction of heavy rainfall in Odisha from June 26.
