Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday advised concerned officials to prepare a people-centric budget. Majhi came up with the suggestion while reviewing the activities of the Planning & Convergence Department.
Opining that the people have high expectations of the new government Majhi said that it must be reflected in the State Plan budget.
The Chief Minister advised to focus on ensuring that the schemes reach the grassroots level properly and the people get the benefits.
While stressing on proper utilisation of mineral fund he directed for establishment of trauma care centres in mineral-bearing districts with the help of the fund. He especially emphasized establishing trauma care centres at the medical colleges in the districts.
Majhi keeping up with promises made in his party’s election manifesto directed the Department to place proposals for the constitution of the North Odisha Development Council and South Odisha Development Council after constituting the task force and through study.
Similarly, he advised to examine the major promises made in the manifesto and take steps accordingly.
Development Commissioner cum Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg and other senior officials of the Planning and Convergence Department apprised the Chief Minister in detail about the activities and programmes of the Department.
