Balasore: In a tragic incident, a student died after the wall of a water tank collapsed on him at Saragaon Padmapur in Balasore district, on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Narayan Tudu, a student of a private English Medium School student. He was only 10.
According to sources, Narayan used to reside in the school hostel. He had gone to wash his hands near the water tank after having his breakfast when the wall of the water tank caved in and he was trapped under the debris of the wall.
The school authorities immediately rescued him and rushed him to District Headquarters Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Upon being informed, police rushed to the accident site and launched a probe into the matter.
Narayan’s death has sent shockwaves in his family.
