Cuttack: In a significant verdict, the Board of Revenue has rejected a private individual’s claim over nearly 62 acres of valuable government land belonging to the Cuttack Municipal Corporation, bringing an end to a 43-year-long legal dispute.
The land, estimated to be worth more than ₹700 crore, will continue to remain in government records following the decision by the members of the Board of Revenue.
The Board dismissed the private ownership claim, affirming that the property is government land. Officials described the order as an important ruling that protects public assets of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation.
The long-pending case, which had dragged on for over four decades, has now been conclusively decided in favour of the government.
