Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and various Union Ministers in New Delhi and discussed the overall development of Odisha.Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida were also present.
Majhi met Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan seeking his cooperation for reforms in the field of education and the development of education. The CM sought his cooperation in developing Odisha as a centre of excellence in the field of education.
Meeting with the Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram , the CM urged him to cooperate for the betterment and progress of the tribals of Odisha. The chief minister expressed that the Odisha government is committed to solving the long-standing basic problems of the tribals.
The Chief Minister said that the Odisha government will continue the public welfare work in cooperation with the Centre for the overall development of the tribals.
Later, he met Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and made a proposal to extend the railway tracks in Odisha and connect the railways to more inaccessible regions.
Discussion was also held regarding the arrangement of special trains to Odisha for Rath Yatra. During the discussion, the Railway Minister said 315 special trains will run for Rath Yatra this year.
This is much more than last year and will connect almost all regions of the country. Apart from this, accommodation arrangements will be made for 15,000 devotees. The Chief Minister thanked the Railway Minister for this special facility.
The CM also made a courtesy call to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Union Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Singh Yadav and presented various important issues of Odisha. Majhi sought their cooperation in building a strong and progressive Odisha.
All the Union Ministers promised to provide more assistance to Odisha.
After meeting all the ministers, the Chief Minister said that the cooperation of the Centre will create a new chapter for the development of Odisha.
Since taking over as Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi’s commitment to meet thousands of people directly and solve their problems has made him popular as a people’s leader.
The visit of the Chief Minister will play significant role in the rapid development of Odisha.
The potential for increased cooperation and partnership between the Centre and the States in the field of development has been highlighted.
