Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep grief over the death of five army jawans after an army tank got flooded in a stream in Ladakh region during warfare exercise.
The Chief Minister said that the defence forces always do war exercises for the security of the country.
The sacrifices of martyred Jawans will forever be remembered in the field of national security. The countrymen will never forget their sacrifice, Majhi stated through a release.
The Chief Minister prayed for the immortal souls of the martyrs and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families.
Notably, five Army soldiers were killed during a tank warfare exercise in the Ladakh region when the tanks passing through the stream suddenly got flooded.
An exercise of tank warfare was going on in the Daulat Beg Oldi area near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on Friday.
A stream which was being crossed by the tanks during this exercise suddenly got flooded due to cloudburst in the higher reaches
