Vigilance Apprehends Section Officer Of Pattamundai Tehsil For Taking Bribe

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today apprehended a section officer at the office of the Tahasildar, Pattamundai in Kendrapara for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs10,000 from a person to issue a certified copy of a case record relating to the partition of land.

The anti-graft team recovered and seized the entire bribe money from the exclusive possession of accused John William Barala.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches were carried out at two locations of the accused section officer from DA angle.

In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance registered a case U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.

The investigation is in progress against accused Barala, said Vigilance.
