Bhubaneswar: The truck driver, who ran over a traffic constable in Bhubaneswar on June 29, was arrested today by a team of Commissionerate police.
Nayapalli police arrested the driver from Gopalpur in Banki area of Cuttack. The truck he was driving during the time of accident was also seized by police.
He fled the scene soon after causing the accident at Jaydev Vihar Bridge in Bhubaneswar.
Traffic constable Madhusudan Kirshani was crushed to death after the truck ran over him on NH-16 near Jayadev Vihar flyover in Bhubaneswar on Saturday night.
The accident took place when Kirshani was on his way to home at Khandagiri around 11 pm. He was returning to home after completing his duty.
He was deployed at Ram Mandir chhak traffic post.
A case was registered and police investigated the case by examining CCTV footage of the area to trace the vehicle that caused the mishap.
