Youth Feared Drowned In Mahanadi River; Search Operation Underway

Bhubaneswar: A youth has gone missing after jumping into Mahanadi River near Jobra in Cuttack on Monday night. Despite frantic search by firefighting officials, the body of the missing youth who is feared to have drowned, has not been retrieved.

According to sources, Prashant Rout, a resident of Chhatrabazar area in Cuttack, is feared to have drowned after falling into the Mahanadi river.

According to locals, Rout was seen roaming near the riverbank and accidentally fell into the river. Locals immediately alerted the firefighting team, but due to the darkness, the search operation was delayed.

The fire service team resumed the search operation this morning and is currently scouring the river to locate the young man’s body.

The incident has left the local community in shock, and authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
