‘Motion Of Thanks’ To Guv Address: Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Outlines Vision For Developed Odisha By 2036

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today emphasized the importance of protecting and promoting Odia Asmita (identity) through language, literature, culture, and heritage. To achieve this, the government will establish Rs 200 crore corpus fund, create Odia Asmita Bhawan, and develop institutions like Odisha Translation Academy and Palm leaf Manuscript Museum, Majhi said while welcoming the Governor’s address in the State Assembly.

The CM outlined a vision for a developed Odisha by 2036, with the next five years being crucial in laying the foundation for this goal. The government aims to make Odisha number one in the context of a developed India by 2047.

Majhi highlighted the government’s people-oriented approach, citing the fulfilment of four major promises made to the people of Odisha on the first day of forming the government. The budget process has also been made inclusive, with over 12,000 people providing online feedback.

The CM reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening democracy by valuing public opinion and resolving grievances through a regularized system. With determination and continuous efforts, the government aims to succeed in fulfilling the dreams of Odisha’s people, Majhi said.

Under the Subhadra Yojana scheme, women will receive Rs 50,000 each, with the program set to launch on September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In line with the National Education Policy-2020, the state government will introduce a state-level education policy to make higher education, including law, medical, and engineering courses, more accessible in Odisha, the CM said.

Additionally, 800 government schools will be developed as PM Shri schools, and skill development programs will be decentralized to equip youth with industry-relevant skills.

The government has also pledged to fill 1.50 lakh government posts, with a priority on vacant positions in the government sector. A total of 65,000 government posts will be filled within the next two years.
