Odisha To See Significant Development In Next Five Years, Says CM Majhi After Returning From New Delhi

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi returned to Odisha on Monday after attending the NITI Aayog meeting held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following his return, the CM expressed confidence that all proposals presented at the NITI Aayog meeting will be implemented and will lead to significant changes in Odisha over the next 5 years.

Addressing the media, Majhi said, “The Prime Minister is giving special importance to the development of Odisha. Therefore, all the proposals that I have made in the policy commission meeting will be implemented and there will be a big change in Odisha in the next five years. The focus of the Prime Minister is on the development of the 480 km beach, development of port industries, development of tourism, and development of IT sector and tribals.”

During his Delhi visit, the CM held talks with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Delhi to resolve the ongoing potato issue. The meeting was also attended by the chief secretaries of both states.

Talking about the potato crisis, the Chief Minister said, “I don’t believe in writing letters. I directly discussed the issue with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Delhi. The chief secretaries of the two states were also present during the discussion. The situation has started to be normal and the crisis will be resolved soon.”

Majhi also stated that he had a productive conversation with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, reiterating Odisha’s claims and concerns regarding the project. To further discuss the issue, Majhi proposed a meeting between the Chief Ministers of both states, which Naidu has agreed to.

“During the NITI Aayog meeting, I discussed with Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu. We reiterated our claims on Polavaram. I have proposed for a Chief Ministerial meeting in the coming days and the Andhra Chief Minister has also agreed to the proposal.”

As per reports, Chief Minister Majhi arrived at Biju Patnaik airport in Bhubaneswar, concluding his four-day visit to New Delhi. He was warmly received at the airport by a delegation of cabinet ministers,MLAs and administrative officials.
