Jharsuguda: Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari today met the parents of Odia doctor Sweekruti Mohapatra who has been critically injured in the landslide in Kerala’s Wayanad and is undergoing treatment there.

Pujari met Sweekruti’s father at their residence here.

Speaking to reporters after visiting Sweekruti’s father, Pujari said that Sweekruti’s condition is stable and as per the doctors treating her she has recuperated almost 95 per cent.

“Out of the four from Odisha who were affected by the landslide in Kerala one is Jharsuguda’s daughter Sweekruti Mohapatra. We have sent two high-level officers from Odisha. Dillip Routray, an IAS officer serving in the Tourism department is camping at the site. One of the Odia tourists Dillip Panda is still missing. A search is underway to trace him. Our Jharsuguda girl is stable now and is undergoing treatment. I have spoken to the doctors and Dillip Routray and I feel the danger is over. Kerala’s SRC is also a daughter of Odisha,” said Pujari.

Pujari said that he knows Sweekruti’s father and has been in constant touch with him over the phone ever since he came to know about the incident.

“I met him today during my visit here and I have updated him. According to the doctors our daughter is stable and 95 per cent of the treatment is over. With Maa Samaleswari’s and Mahaprabhu Jagannath’s grace and blessings, our daughter will return home safely. I have told her father that I will visit for a cup of tea after our daughter returns home safe,” he added.
