Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi expressed grief over the demise of the veteran carpenter of Darpadalana Rath Krushna Chandra Maharana.
Taking to his X handle, CM wrote: “I am deeply saddened and heartbroken to hear about the passing of Krushna Chandra Maharana, the chief carpenter of Devi Subhadra’s Darpadalana chariot. I offer my condolences to the grieving family members and pray to Lord Jagannath for the departed soul to attain salvation. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Notably, Maharana who used to be the chief carpenter of the Darpadalana chariot over the years had constructed over 70 chariots and had been involved in five Nabakalebara ceremonies in his career as a carpenter spanning over 70 years.
