Bargarh: Diarrhoea outbreak has claimed lives of a couple in Amlipali village under Bheden block in Bargarh district, while three family members are hospitalized in critical condition. Additionally, 30 villagers have been affected by the water-borne disease.
Atabira MLA Nihar Ranjan Mahanand visited the village upon hearing the news and directed the CDMO to notify the district health department and provide immediate medical attention to the affected people.
A medical team has been deployed in the village, conducting house-to-house assessments and treating the patients. Villagers believe the outbreak is linked to contaminated water from a tube well, which has been collected for testing by the drinking water supply department and medical teams.
The situation is being closely monitored, and efforts are underway to contain the spread of the disease, said an official.
