Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to strengthen the state’s police administration, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made several key announcements on the floor of the State Assembly on Saturday.
The announcements include:
– Creation of 1,000 new posts for traffic staff
– Creation of 4,000 new posts for the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF)
– Provision of 9,000 motorcycles for Assistant Sub-Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, and Inspectors
– Sanction of 10 new ODRAF (Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force) teams
– Budget provision of Rs 117 crore for the Emergency Response System (112)
– Permission to fill 2,922 vacancies in different ranks of the Odisha Police
– Permission to fill 1,083 vacancies in the newly created SS Battalion at Puri
– Permission to fill 2,298 vacancies of Home Guards
– Compassionate appointment of one family member of Home Guards killed in the line of duty
– Establishment of one Out Post each at 10 Government Medical Colleges
These announcements aim to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the state police force, improve emergency response systems, and provide better resources for law enforcement personnel.
