Bhubaneswar: The Kharvel Nagar police have detained five youths for reckless driving and seized three vehicles involved in the incident. The youths were reportedly driving dangerously in four vehicles, defying traffic police orders and endangering the lives of other road users.
According to a senior police official, the vehicles—an XUV, a Creta, a Tata Safari, and an i20—were speeding recklessly from Big Bazaar Square to Sahidnagar. A case has been registered at Kharvel Nagar police station, and three of the four vehicles have been seized. The police are continuing their search for the fourth vehicle.
The incident, which occurred around 9:30 AM, was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media, sparking outrage among users. The reckless driving created panic on the roads, and the video prompted swift police action.
Authorities are urging road users to follow traffic rules to ensure public safety.
