Paradip: Fourteen fishermen from Odisha are left high and dry in the rough sea near the Mahanadi river mouth in Pradip after two fishing boats, named Dharmashakha-2 and Dharmashakha-3, got stranded due to technical glitch on Thursday.
According to reports, Dharmashakha-2 got stranded near the Nehru Bangla sea shore in Paradip due to a technical glitch while returning after fishing in the deep sea. On receiving a distress call, Dharmashakha-3 rushed to the spot and attempted to tow the troubled boat back. However, the rope snapped and got entangled in the fan.
While efforts are underway to safely rescue the 14 fishermen and tow the boats to the shore, the rescue operation by Coast Guard and Marine Police personnel faced trouble due to the heavy rains and rough sea.
