Cuttack: The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has announced its 17-member team (senior) for the upcoming Ranji Trophy. Odisha will start its Ranji campaign against Tripura from October 11.
The team was selected for the first two matches for the major competition of the BCCI domestic series, with Gobind Poddar as captain. OCA Selection Committee Chairman Amiya Ray and Coach Surendra Bhave made the announcement at a press conference.
The committee has selected talented players like Shantanu Mishra, Anurag Sharangi, Biplab Samantharay, Kartik Biswal, Swastik Samal in the team.
Similarly, Anil Parida and Sumit Sharma will be seen in the Odisha team as new faces. Two wicket-keeper batsmen Ashribad Swain and Rajesh Dhupar are also included in the team. In the bowling line-up, Suryakant Pradhan, Sunil Roul, Rajesh Mohanty, Debabrat Pradhan, Tarni Sa, Harshit Rathore have found place.
Odisha will play a total of seven matches in the Ranji series. Team Odisha will play the first match against Tripura from October 11.

Later, the team will meet Jammu and Kashmir, Baroda, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Meghalaya and Services. To constitute the team, Odisha cricket team has played practice matches with many camps. They must do well in this season. Following disappointing past performances, OCA hopes the team will do better this year.
