Puri: Fishermen on Saturday netted a crocodile while it was moving under the Chupuringi bridge over Rajua river at Kanas in Puri district.
The croc, a gharial measuring over 8 feet in length has been handed over to the Forest department following its capture.
Over the last few days, the croc had left people terrorised in the area. It was first seen in Daya river and later in Rajua river in Haladiapada area.
Villagers have heaved a sigh of relief following the amphibian’s capture.
