Dhenkanal: A tragic incident occurred in Kharidali village under Rasol police station on Saturday morning, leaving two dead and one critically ill.
Two minor girls from the village accidentally drowned while swimming in a nearby pond. In an attempt to rescue them, a woman bathing nearby also lost her life.
The fire brigade responded and rescued the victims, who were then rushed to the district headquarters hospital. Unfortunately, Anjali Sethi, wife of Kabi Sethi, and a minor girl, Krishna Priya, were declared dead by the doctors. The second minor girl remains critically ill and is under treatment.
The villagers have demanded compensation for the bereaved families.
