Bhubaneswar: With a few hours left for cyclone Dana to make landfall, acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has urged Odisha residents to remain calm.
Through a stunning sand sculpture on Puri’s Golden Beach, Pattnaik conveyed this vital message on his ‘X’ account highlighting the need for staying safe during the approaching cyclone.
In his caption, Pattnaik wrote: “Jai Jagannath. Praying to Lord Jagannatha to protect everyone from #CycloneDana.”
His poignant artwork depicts Lord Jagannath alongside a cyclone symbol, accompanied by the reassuring words: “Pray for all. Don’t panic, stay safe.”
In response to his post, one user commented, “Let’s hope for the best. While we are prepared, I hope it won’t cause damage to public life, property, and livelihoods.”
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cyclone Dana is expected to make landfall between Bhitarkanika and Dhamra between Thursday night and Friday early morning.
