Bhubaneswar: Private bus services from Balasore to Bhubaneswar have been halted as the severe cyclonic storm ‘Dana’ approaching coast.
The private bus owners’ association announced that services on Balasore-Bhubanswar and Balasore-Chandaneswar route have been suspended in view of the cyclone to ensure safety of passengers and prevent accidents.
Decision to resume the service will be taken after the cyclone passed, the association said.
The weather agency said that the Cyclone ‘Dana’ is moving with a speed of 10 kmph which is located about 150 km southeast of Paradip (Odisha), 180 km south-southeast of Dhamara (Odisha) and 250 km south of Sagar Island (West Bengal).
It is very likely to move north-northwestwards and cross north Odisha and West Bengal coasts between Puri and Sagar Island close to Bhitarkanika and Dhamara (Odisha) during mid-night of Thursday and morning of Friday.
The cyclone also led to the suspension of flight and train services in Odisha.
