Bhubaneswar: The Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) authorities have announced that flight operations will resume to and from the airport around 8.00 on Friday.
The BPIA authorities have said that flight operations in Bhubaneswar will return to normal after Cyclone Dana made landfall near Habalikhati in Odisha’s Kendrapara district in the wee hours of Friday. The airport director has informed that flight operations will return to normal as before from 8.00 am.
The flight operations were closed from 5.00 pm on Thursday due to Cyclone Dana. However, after the cyclone made landfall, air traffic will return to normal an hour before the scheduled time.
It is worth noting that the cyclone Dana has made landfall in a severe form, wreaking havoc along Odisha and West Bengal coast. The cyclone made landfall between 1:30 am and 3:30 am followed by very heavy rain and strong wind.
