Cyclone Dana: Landfall Process To Continue For Another Hour, Says IMD

Bhubaneswar: The landfall process of severe cyclonic storm Dana will continue for another hour, according to the latest update from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Going by the IMD bulletin, cyclone Dana is likely to move northwestwards across north Odisha, gradually weakening into a cyclonic storm by the afternoon today. The Doppler Weather Radar at Paradip is continuously monitoring the system’s movement.

Cyclone Dana is currently hovering over Odisha’s north coast, near Dhamara and Bhitarkaniika. It’s moving slowly at 10 km/h.

It is pertinent to mention that severe cyclonic storm Dana, made landfall in north Odisha, between 1:30 am and 3:30 on Friday, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall to the region. The storm crossed the north Odisha coast near Habalikhati Nature Camp (Bhitarkania) and Dhamara, with wind speeds of 100-110 km/h gusting up to 120 km/h.
