Bargarh: In a tragic incident, a man reportedly killed his wife with a sharp weapon before committing suicide by hanging himself at Kushanpuri area under Bhatli police limits in Bargarh district on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Shor Bhue and his wife, Sunita Bhue.
According to reports, the couple had been married for 14 years and had moved to Bhatli around four years ago. Of late, tensions had been brewing between the couple for months and they were on bad terms.
On Friday night, Shor allegedly killed Sunita by stabbing her, with the knife remaining lodged in her abdomen, and then hung himself. The incident came to light when the landlord informed the police and the families of the deceased.
Upon receiving the information, Bhatli police and forensic team rushed to the scene to investigate and confirmed the presence of a knife in Sunita’s body.
Preliminary findings indicate that Shor killed his wife and then took his own life. As it was too late on Friday, the post-mortem examination has been rescheduled for Saturday.
