Angul: A 25-year-old youth was brutally hacked to death in Changudia village under Chhendipada police station limits in Angul district on Monday evening.
According to sources, the victim Chikun Majhi had a previous dispute with the accused, Chaturbhuj Majhi. On Monday morning, Chikun and his family had a verbal altercation with Chaturbhuj at a local puja mandap.
Later that evening, while Chikun was sitting outside his house, Chaturbhuj attacked him with a sharp weapon, inflicting critical injuries. Family members rushed Chikun to the Koshala Community Health Centre, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Chhendipada police arrived at the scene and arrested Chaturbhuj. An investigation is underway.
