Nayagarh: A bus driver was killed, and 30 others were injured when the vehicle overturned after hitting a roadside tree at Surada Chhak in Nayagarh district, under Nua Gaon police limits, on Friday.
Reports indicate the bus was traveling from Raikia to Bhubaneswar when it crashed onto a roadside tree before overturning at Surada Chhak.
There were over 40 passengers onboard. Locals immediately helped rescue the injured and transported them to Community Health Centres (CHCs) in Daspalla and Nua Gaon.
After receiving primary treatment, the injured were moved to the district headquarters hospital in Nayagarh. The condition of approximately eight passengers is reported to be critical.
