Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar have arrested Subhash Nayak, an IT professional, on charges of sexually harassing a female colleague under the pretense of marriage.
Nayak, who had been evading arrest for six months, surrendered to the police, leading to his detention.
According to reports, Nayak and the woman were colleagues at the same IT firm. He allegedly developed a physical relationship with her after promising marriage.
However, when she began discussing marriage seriously, Nayak avoided the subject and allegedly continued to exploit her.
In June, the woman filed a complaint against Nayak at the Badagada police station in Bhubaneswar.
Since then, Nayak had reportedly been in hiding and seeking anticipatory bail, which was ultimately denied by the court, prompting his surrender.
