Nayagarh: A couple sustained severe burns while making firecrackers at their home in Golagaon village under Sarankula police limits in Nayagarh district, on Saturday.
The injured, identified as Sansari Sethi and his wife Nishamani Sethi, were initially rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Nayagarh in critical condition.
They have since been transferred to a hospital in Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment.
Reports indicate that both of Nishamani’s palms were severely damaged in the incident, while Sansari suffered injuries to his leg, hand, and nose.
The couple, who have been making and selling firecrackers for the past two years, were working in the backyard of their home when the explosion occurred.
