Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Odisha for the second time in a month, this time to attend several programmes in Sambalpur during his two-day trip. According to BJP MLA Jaynarayan Mishra, Shah’s itinerary includes a visit to the revered Samaleswari Temple on December 28, where he will offer prayers.
Following the temple visit, Shah will head to Gangadhar Meher College to attend a programme, and then proceed to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla. One of the key highlights of his visit will be the inauguration of the Super Specialty Building of VIMSAR, in addition to attending other government programmes.
Shah’s visit is significant, especially since his previous visit to Odisha was for the DGP-IGP meet in Bhubaneswar, which was also attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Shah’s tour is seen as part of the BJP’s efforts to strengthen its party organisation in the state. In fact, Shah is likely to attend a roadshow in Sambalpur as part of the party’s efforts to further consolidate its presence in western Odisha.
