Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Indian workers at the Gulf Spic Workers Camp in Kuwait at the ‘Hala Modi’ event on Saturday and interacted with a labourer from Odisha’s Ganjam.
During his interaction, Prime Minister Modi greeted Babulal, an Odia worker, with ‘Jai Jagannath’ and enquired about his family native place, education and the job he was doing in Kuwait.
Babul told Modi has he hails from Ganjam district in Odisha and had his education in Khallikote. He said that he has been working in the Metal Department of Gulf Spic for 16 months now.
Babulal thanked the Prime Minister Modi for giving Odisha the opportunity to host the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention-2025 and hoped that the grand event will enable his native state to showcase its rich culture and heritage to the world.
He credited the Modi’s leadership for the rapid growth of India, while the Prime Minister attributed the efforts of 140 crore Indians to the nation’s transformation.
The PM also praised Babul by saying that people like him, who send money to their family in India by working in foreign countries, also contribute towards the progress of the country. “It is people like you who have made India top in receiving foreign remittances. You are also contributing to India’s growth.”
