Bhubaneswar: In a significant development in the Patnagarh parcel bomb case, the Additional District and Sessions Judge’s Court (ADJ) in Bolangir recorded the testimony of the former Additional Director General (ADG) of the Crime Branch Arun Bothra.
Besides, the court has allowed the demonstration of a video allegedly showing the accused, Punjilal Meher, assembling the bomb.
The video, which was submitted by the prosecution, was shown in court on Monday after the judge allowed a petition filed by the prosecution. The video is believed to be a crucial piece of evidence in the case.
Additionally, the court also recorded the testimony of Arun Bothra, IG of the Crime Branch, who was examined as the 60th witness in the case. Bothra’s testimony was crucial in establishing the chain of events leading up to the blast.
The Patnagarh parcel bomb case dates back to February 23, 2018. Soumya Sekhar Sahu and his grandmother, Jemamani, were killed in the blast while his wife Reema Rani was injured in the bomb blast.
