Mahakumbh Nagar: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Prayagraj on Saturday to review the aftermath of the Mauni Amavasya events at the Mahakumbh Mela.

He sought detailed reports from officials regarding the tragic incident at Sangam Nose during the Amrit Snan, and interacted with devotees, who praised the government’s arrangements for the Mela.

CM Yogi Adityanath arrived in Prayagraj by helicopter and headed straight to the Sangam Nose site, where an unfortunate incident of stampede recently happened.

Upon arrival, he inspected the area and received a detailed briefing from Mela Officer Vijay Kiran Anand and DIG Vaibhav Krishna about the incident.

The Mela Officer apprised him about the swift transportation of the injured to the hospital following the incident.

The Chief Minister then turned his focus to preparations for the upcoming Basant Panchami Amrit Snan. He also issued necessary guidelines to ensure smooth and safe arrangements for the forthcoming event.

During his visit, CM Yogi also took time to interact with thousands of devotees present at the site.

He personally checked on their well-being, making his way through the barricades to greet the crowd.

Devotees warmly welcomed him with chants of “Har Har Mahadev”, “Jai Shri Ram”, and “Jai Ganga Maiya”, expressing their appreciation for the excellent facilities and arrangements made for the Mahakumbh Mela.

Earlier, the Chief Minister had expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident on Mauni Amavasya. His voice choked with emotion as he conveyed his condolences and reassured the public of the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of all devotees during future events.
