Berhampur: The District and Sessions Judge in Ganjam sentenced a woman to life imprisonment on Tuesday after convicting her in a 2023 murder case under Town Police Station in Berhampur.
The woman has been identified as S. Gangama.
According to reports, the court delivered its verdict on the murder case that occurred on October 23, 2023. It was found that S. Gamanga killed her 8-year-old son by pushing him into a pond due to a family dispute.
Initially, the police had registered the case as an accidental death, claiming that the child drowned in Bijipur Pond. However, after reviewing the evidence, the court concluded that she had intentionally killed her son and sentenced her to life imprisonment.
