Bhubaneswar: The State government will soon begin the work of the long-awaited flyover from Jayadev Vihar to Nandan Kanan. The state government has already approved the project, paving the way for technical work to begin, Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan informed today.
Once completed, the flyover will seamlessly connect the existing national highway flyover at Jayadev Vihar to Nandan Kanan. The new flyover will significantly streamline the traffic flow. To ensure smooth navigation, escape routes will be strategically located at major intersections, allowing travellers to easily exit the flyover, the Minister said.
The project’s design prioritizes convenience and safety, with a four-lane road built above the existing road. This new infrastructure is expected to become a vital artery for Bhubaneswar’s transportation network in the coming years, he added.
The government aims to complete a substantial portion of the project by 2027-28.
