The deceased were identified as Rajendra (17), son of Kahnu Behera, and Jyotirmaya (14), son of Satyaban Behera, both from the same village.

Rajendra and Jyotirmaya had gone to the pond in the village to bathe; however, they lost their balance and both drowned in deep water.
