Bhubaneswar: Famous sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a 6-foot sand sculpture of Lord Shiva at Puri Beach.
The sculpture features 144 Shiva Lingas and 144 Kumbhas, made in honor of Maha Shivaratri.
Pattnaik shared the artwork on his X handle with the hashtag “#HarHarMahadev.” The sand art beautifully depicts Lord Shiva with a snake around his neck, surrounded by Shiva Lingas and Kumbhas.
The words “Har Har Mahadev, Mahakumbha, Maha Shivaratri” were also written in the sand, adding to the stunning visual. Pattnaik used around eight tons of sand for the creation, with support from students of his sand art institute.
Speaking to the media, Pattnaik explained that the Maha Kumbha occurs once every 144 years and will conclude today (February 26). He chose to create the sculpture at Jagannath Dham to mark the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri.
