Sundargarh: In a significant crackdown on wildlife poaching, forest department officials conducted multiple raids at various locations in the Jarada range under the Bonai Forest Division in Sundargarh district on Thursday.

According to Forest department officials, the operation led to the seizure of several illegal items, including monkey skins, antelope antlers, peacock feathers, porcupine quills, five country-made guns, poaching snares, bows and arrows, live cartridges, two mobile phones, and a motorcycle.

The Forest Department’s Special Task Force (STF) also arrested six poachers in connection with the raids. The accused have been identified as Rajkumar Pradhan, Ramani Ranjan Patra, Sarat Nayak, Bhim Kisan, Narayan Hasti, and Biswanath Hasti, all residents of Sundargarh and Sambalpur districts.
