Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal on Thursday filed a police complaint against Aska MLA Saroj Padhi, accusing him of misbehaving with Ganjam Zilla Parishad Chief Development Officer Samir Jena, IAS, over distribution of relief materials.
The complaint was lodged at Aska Police Station by a delegation led by Ganjam District Youth BJD President Nachiketa Swain.
As per the complaint, the altercation took place on Wednesday evening when CDO Jena and MLA Padhi had a dispute regarding supply of relief materials. The MLA allegedly abused the officer during the argument.
The BJD has further alleged that there was a conspiracy to misappropriate relief materials and that the MLA indulged in hooliganism. The party has sought an impartial probe and strict legal action in the matter.
