Bargarh: Local people captured a robber from the main branch of Bargarh’s State Bank of India. According to reports, the robber was stealing more than Rs 1 lakh from the counter and fleeing. After the locals caught the robber, the police arrived and arrested him. The police have started an investigation to determine if the robber was alone or if others were involved.
Locals thrashed the robber severely before handing him over to the police. Dilip Mohapatra, a customer, said, “I had just deposited Rs 77,000 when he came from behind, snatched the money from the counter, and ran away. I and other customers followed him and caught him after a short chase from the bank.”
Jay Kishan Moharana, the bank manager, stated that one of their customers, Dilip Mohapatra, was depositing Rs 77,000 when the miscreant snatched money from near the counter and tried to flee. Their bank guard, staff, and the public intercepted and captured him. They immediately informed the police, who rushed to the bank and arrested him.
