Notorious Criminal Lakua Injured In Police Encounter

Bhubaneswar: Notorious interstate criminal Byasa Lakua sustained injuries in a police encounter near Akhayasila Waterfall under Bisra police jurisdiction in Sundargarh district in the wee hours of Wednesday.

As per reports, Lakua was involved in multiple cases of extortion, murder, theft, and dacoity.  Police had been on his trail for a long time.

On a tip-off, police chased him when he was planning a robbery. Lakua opened fire at the police team, which retaliated, injuring him critically. He has been admitted to the Rourkela Government Hospital for treatment.
