Heatwave Grips Odisha; 5 Cities Record Temperatures Above 40°C

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is experiencing a severe heatwave, with five places in the state recording temperatures above 40°C today. Boudh city has emerged as the hottest place, with a scorching temperature of 43.5°C on Monday.

This information was shared by the weather scientist Umashankar Das on his social media account X (formerly Twitter).

According to the scientist, the temperature in Boudh reached 43.5°C, followed by Bargarh at 42°C, Angul at 40.7°C, Titilagarh at 40.5°C, and Malkangiri at 40.2°C.

Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar recorded a temperature of 36.7°C, and Cuttack reported 37°C.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised residents of Odisha to take necessary precautions amidst the intense heat.

These include staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and seeking shade when necessary.
