Odisha Spent Rs 115.95 Cr On Vehicles, Sound Systems & Tents For 2024 Polls

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government incurred an expenditure of ₹115.95 crore on logistical arrangements during the 2024 simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi revealed in the Assembly.

Responding to a query from Athagarh MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain, the Chief Minister detailed the expenses, stating that ₹80.93 crore was spent on hiring vehicles for election-related activities. Additionally, ₹35 crore was allocated for sound systems, tents, and barricades to facilitate the polling process.

The figures highlight the significant financial outlay required for conducting the elections across the state last year.
