Bhubaneswar: A cobra accidentally got stuck in the steel floor strainer inside the bathroom of a hostel at Orissa University of Agriculture Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar. The snake helpline members had a tough time safely rescuing the reptile stuck in the steel strainer.
Students discovered the snake in a precarious condition, stuck in the strainer inside the bathroom. They immediately informed the snake helpline, following which the snake rescuer rushed to the university campus and safely rescued the reptile. The snake sustained injuries during the rescue from the steel strainer. It was administered primary treatment at the varsity before being released into a forest.
Soubhagya Das, an OUAT student, said, “We found a cobra stuck in the bathroom floor strainer. We immediately called the Snake Helpline. Snake rescuer Arun Babu reached the scene and successfully rescued the snake. We expressed our gratitude for his service.”
Snake helpline members suspected that the cobra might have been searching for food when it got stuck in the floor strainer.
