Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert indicating that two districts in Odisha, Gajapati and Ganjam, are likely to experience light to moderate thunderstorms with lightning in the next three hours.
According to the IMD’s nowcast, light to moderate thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, as well as light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds with speeds of 30-40 km/h, are expected to affect parts of Gajapati and Ganjam districts between 1:15 pm and 4:15 pm today.
The IMD has also issued a Yellow warning for these districts and advised residents to stay alert and take precautions, including moving to safer locations to avoid the risk of lightning.
