Bhubaneswar: Intense action was witnessed on the second day of the 73rd All India Police Hockey Championship-2025 with seven matches played at the Kalinga Stadium here on Tuesday.
According to an official press release, the day began with a match between Uttar Pradesh Police and Maharashtra Police, where Uttar Pradesh delivered a commanding performance, defeating Maharashtra by a score of 9-0.
The second game saw Karnataka Police dominating Gujarat Police with an overwhelming 20-1 win. In the third match, Telangana Police overpowered Kerala Police, finishing with a 9-1 scoreline.
Next, the CRPF team clashed with Puducherry Police in the fourth match of the day. CRPF secured a massive victory, defeating their opponents 21-1.
In the women’s division, the fifth match featured the teams of Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh women’s police team came out strong and defeated Tamil Nadu by a margin of 6-1.
The sixth match saw Punjab Police take on Madhya Pradesh Police, where Punjab secured a comfortable 7-1 win.
The final match of the day featured SSB taking on Haryana Police. SSB dominated the field and clinched victory with an 18-0 scoreline.
Throughout the day, several key dignitaries were present to encourage the players.
Among them were Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Sports and Youth Services Department; Soumendra Priyadarshi, Additional Director General of Police (Modernization); Dr. Santosh Bala Director, SCRB; Arun Bothra, Additional DGP of the Railway and Coastal Security Division; Dayal Gangwar, Vice President of the Organizing Committee ; Anup Kumar Sahu, Secretary of the Organizing Committee and & IG (Training); Dr. Deepak Kumar, IG (Operations); Abinash Kumar, IG (Armed); and Khordha SP Sagarika Nath.
Their presence added enthusiasm to the championship and inspired the participating players.
