Girl Drowns While Bathing In Birupa River In Cuttack

Cuttack: A 10-year-old girl lost her life after drowning while bathing in the Birupa River in Uchhadiha village under Salepur police station in Cuttack district on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Supriya Sethi, was the daughter of Rabindra Sethi, a resident of Uchhadiha village.

According to sources, Supriya had gone to the river for a bath along with her friends. During the bath, she reportedly slipped and drowned.

Local residents, who were present near the river at the time, quickly rushed to her aid. They managed to rescue Supriya and rushed her to the Rameswar Primary Health Centre (PHC).

Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, doctors at the PHC declared her dead upon arrival.

Her body has been sent to the SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack for a post-mortem examination. The Salepur police are investigating the incident.
