Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the next of kin of the three persons who lost their lives in a tragic road accident near the Joda town flyover in Keonjhar district on Monday night.
Expressing grief over the incident, the Chief Minister extended his condolences to the bereaved families.
“CM Majhi expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and ordered a compensation of Rs 4 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the next of kin of the deceased. He also wished a speedy recovery to the injured,” the Chief Minister’s Office posted on X (formerly Twitter).

According to reports, the accident occurred around 9 pm when six persons were travelling on two motorcycles towards Barbil for work. An unidentified vehicle reportedly rammed into them near the approach road to the Joda flyover.
Three persons died on the spot, while the remaining three sustained critical injuries. The injured were rushed to Tata Steel Hospital in Joda for treatment.
