Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a heatwave warning for several parts of Odisha, with Jharsuguda identified as experiencing an isolated severe heatwave today. Eleven other towns are likely to face isolated heatwave conditions, while 13 towns are expected to witness hot and humid weather.
As per the IMD bulletin, Jharsuguda falls under the isolated severe heatwave zone. The districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Balangir, Nuapada, Boudh, Subarnapur, and Kalahandi are expected to witness isolated heatwave conditions.
Additionally, warm night conditions have been predicted for Sambalpur, Sundargarh, and Balangir districts.
The IMD has also identified a hot and humid zone covering the districts of Keonjhar, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, and Ganjam.
No weather warnings have been issued for the remaining districts of Odisha.
